Past perfect VS Present perfect


The past perfect tense refers to past time .
example :
Ali had played football before he went back home.


use the past perfect tense of the verb .
•to tell what you have done recently/ lately.
•to tell what you have just or already done.
•to tell what you have never/ ever done.
•to tell what you have done so far/ up to now.
•to tell what you have done today/ this week/ this month/ this year.
•It can describe either present or past activities

Past tense and Past continuous

Past tense is Details of actions that finished in the past
Past continuous is …
•Action in progress at a definite time in the past .
•The action was still happening when another action started in the past .
Example :
  • The cat was sleeping on the sofa.
  • was eating the dinner when someone knocked at the door.
  • While he was watching TV, I was working hard.
  • was wondering if you could help me.

Adverbs

—Adverbs are used to describe verbs. Generally, adverbs tell HOWWHEN and WHERE the verbs happen
—Some examples of adverbs that tell how an action takes place:
—quickly, slowly, lazily, higher, lower, nicely, patiently
—Some examples of adverbs that describe when something happens:
—soon, yesterday, now, today, always, never often
—Some examples of adverbs that describe where something happens:
—here, there, inside, outside, around, through , beneath.

—Adverbs are also used to describe adjectives
—That ice cream is extremely delicious
—The other use of adverbs is to describe another adverbs
—The guards checks our student cards meticulously carefully
—We jumped frantically happily because the class was cancelled.
—Adverbs of manner – answer the question HOW
—Adverbs of place – answer the question WHERE
—Adverbs of time – answer the question WHEN
—Adverbs of degree – answer the question TO WHAT EXTENT

Speaking Test. . .


Speaking test that will be on Friday, 13 August 2011. The marks for speaking test is 20%. The marks will be add with our final examination, BEL120. The speaking test will be in a form of group that contain four people which are candidate 1, candidate 2, candidate 3 and candidate 4. The question would be given and it also contain four points. 

Listening test


Last Thursday and Friday, we did pre-test for listening test that will be on Saturday. Listening test is carried mark for BEL120. Miss Zu taught us on how to take the listening test. Listening test is the test that need to use our ears to listen carefully the voice that would gave the information and the information will be the answer in the question given .

What is Adjectives ..?

Today we learn about  ADJECTIVES....

adjectives describe a noun or pronoun. If we want to identify an adjective we must locate a noun first . Adjectives also usually answer the question like how many and what kind
Example :
  One sad little girl was in our class .

At the same time , miss Zu told us to do the Poem using friend name . Miss zu says doing this Poem also can improve our English and also we learn about Adjective .

Before holiday


Today was our last day in UiTM Segamat because we were having a holiday.
All of us so excited to get home early. So, last Friday, we were acting again. We acting by combining the Malay fiction story with an English Fiction. As usual we were divided into five groups. We laughed and had fun that day. My group choose Puteri Gunung Ledang for Malay fiction and Narnia for English Fiction. We all have fun…

Subject Verb Agreement



Singular subjects need singular verbs and Plural subjects need plural verbs. Pronouns such as everyone and everybody seem plural, but they are always singular — so they need a singular verb.
•Verbs that accompany pronouns such as all and some will be determined by whether the pronoun is referring to something that is COUNTABLE or not.
Phrases such as together with, along with, and as well as seem to combine subjects, but they do not .
When either and neither appear as a subject alone (without the words or and nor), they are singular.
The words there and here are never subjects.

Verbs in the present tense for third-person, singular subjects (he, she, it and anything those words can stand for) have s-endings. Other verbs do not add s-endings.

Reference words and contextual clues ..

Today we learn about Context clues . Context clues are bits of information from the text that, when combined with prior knowledge, allow you to decide the meaning of unknown words in the story or article you are reading.
•As a reader you must act similar to a detective and put together clues from sentences surrounding an unknown word in order to make an intelligent “guess” as to what the definition of a word is.ut togetAuthors use many different types of context clues when writing texts.  Three of these types are:

wonderful class..

Morning... Today we learn about FINDING THE MAIN IDEA .The main idea of a passage is the thought that is present from the beginning to the end. We also learn about IMPLIED MAIN IDEA .What is an Implied main idea ?  Implied main idea is Some paragraphs have no topic sentence.
1st day in class with Miss Zuraidah . Today is the best class ever. Many new thing we had learn. it teach us to become more confidence and enable us to get to know among each other. It was fantastic that we play ice breaking in the class..It really fun ..We all enjoy. Thanks you miss Zu.

Verb


Today we learn about verbs . Verb is Word that expresses what someone or something does, what they are or what happens to them ,often defined as a word which shows action or state of being .One of the most important things about verbs is their relationship to time. Verbs can be classified into two , regular and irregular .We also learn About transitive . Transitive require an object in the sentence , and the object comes after verb .

Transition Signal

today we learn about transition . Transition signals are words and phrases that link one sentence with another sentence, usually the one immediately before it. They can also be used in a compound sentence to connect the second independent clause with the first one. These words and phrases function as adverbs that modify entire sentences; hence, they are called sentence adverbs. Signals of an apparent contradiction for argumentative essays.Example , however and yet .secondly , Related words (These words are used to connect two clauses in the same sentence.)example although , but . we also learn about Signals of concession .These words introduce points that contradict your main point, which you are conceding without giving up your claim that your main point is true.example , Of course, To be sure, and naturally .

Do you think you can act..??

Today , our class did some activities that really enjoy . Miss zu divided us into form of group.Our task was act drama musical. TRAIN was our title drama musical .we create a scene where two student falling in love in the train .   At the same time there was a group of girls making noise in the train. The main point of doing this activities was to lets us speaks in english . So that we can improve in our english . We all had happy moment and have fun...tq Miss Zu ..

PRONOUN

Today, I had learnt about pronoun.
What I understand about pronouns is pronoun replace a noun.
Example such as I, who, she, them, he, his, her and so on....
After that, we went outside the class to practice on how to use pronoun in speaking.
I felt hard at the first time but after Miss Zu explain more about pronoun, I think I can do it.

Acting again..^_^

Well, today I went my BEL120 class without my cane.^_^
Back to the story, today I learnt about how to say goodbye to people.
I also learnt new language on how to said goodbye...
But the main point here, actually today class as usual, we had to acting again and again..
So my group which was Farhan, Faiq and me acted as brothers which wanted to said goodbye because two of them wanted to went a war.
It was fun...^_^

Thesis Statement..

Today, I had learnt about THESIS STATEMENT.
Which my understanding, thesis statement is main point of the essay.
Miss Zu taught us, if we wanted to write an essay we must have a thesis statement.
She showed us some examples of thesis statement.
She also gave us some exercises to make us more understand about thesis statement.
I felt a little hard for me to understand because my English is bad.
But I hope I can do better in making thesis statement...

shock

Hi..and welcome to my blog.
*First of all, this is my first blog because I entered this class (BEL120) late . ^_^
Today was my first class in BEL120.I felt a little afraid with Miss Zu which is my lecturer.She looks like a monster. She asked me a lot of questions until I became speechless. I think today was my bad day because I just entered the class and suddenly I was asked to acted in this class.
I felt totally shocked because I know nothing. I felt so blur. But my group did well in this task.
Thank you my friends for helping me although my scene was just a little only.
At the same time, I felt so happy because I had fun enjoying my BEL120 class.
